In SimpliPlan, you can access Settings. In the Settings window, you can access several tabs: General, Presets, Display, Graphic, Measuring, Parts list, Print and System.
General settings
In General settings, you can alter application settings, unit of measurement settings, manage automatic saving and update intervals, and manage the user log in.
To access General settings:
- Click the Settings icon:
- In the Settings window, select the General tab.
Note: The window opens here by default.
- Under the General tab, there are five sections, Application, Automatic saving, Automatic update
Log in and Units:
Application
In the Application section, you can:
- Change the program Language by clicking the drop-down and selecting a new language.
Note: You will need to restart SimpliPlan.
- Change your Country by clicking the drop-down and selecting a new country.
- Choose how SimpliPlan appears On start up and new project by clicking the drop-down and selecting a default option.
- Click the switches to toggle Show 3D navigator and Zoom to mouse cursor in 2D on and off.
- Choose the Default project type by clicking the drop-down.
- Click the switch to toggle if Attach documents automatically is on or off.
Automatic saving
In the Automatic saving section, you can enter new values into the Saving interval, to alter the interval autosaves are made, and Number of savings field, to alter the number of autosaves made before they are overwritten.
Automatic update
In the Automatic update section, you can click the Interval drop-down to set a new interval for when the program automatically updates.
Log in
In the Log in section, you can see the name of the Current user, the user currently logged in. Click the Log out and switch button to log out and then log in with a different username and password and click the Show information in application title switch to toggle the visibility of the current user's name in the application title, located at the very top left of your screen.

Units
In the Units section, you can:
- Click the Unit System drop-down to select the system of measurements used and click the Measuring unit drop-down to select the unit of measurement used.
- Enter a new value into the Max. decimal places, to alter the number of decimal places used in measurements.
- Enter new values into the Shift step length and Rotate step length fields to alter the default values.
