In SimpliPlan, you can add textures to surfaces, such as walls, floors and pre-walls, in their plan.
In Materials mode:
- Under the Textures tab, located in the panel on the left, you can click the drop-downs to see selections of textures.

Left-click and hold to select a texture.
- Drag and drop onto the desired surface.
In the panel located on the right, you will now have access to Material properties.

Positioning
Under Material properties, located in the panel the right side of the screen, under the Positioning tab, you can:
- Adjust the offset of the texture by entering new information into the Offset fields.
- Change the scale of the texture by entering new information into the Scale fields.
- Rotate the texture by using the Rotation slider or by entering new information into the field.
- See a description of the texture used on the selected area, including the name of the texture and selected size, and a thumbnail preview.
- Click the Import image button to manually select a new texture or image in the Open file window, or using drag and drop to place a selected texture onto the thumbnail to overwrite the currently selected texture.
Colour
Under the Colour tab, you can:
- Click the Colour field to select a colour for the texture.
Note: you can enter RGB numbers or a HEX code for a specific colour, or use the sliders, and adjust the hue, saturation, lightness and intensity.
- Click the Emission field to change the colour of any luminous effect shown in renders.

- Click the IES light profile field to change the light profile used for rendering.
- Use the Matt / shiny slider to increase or decrease the gloss finish of the texture, or by entering a new value in the field.
- Use the Plastic / metallic slider to increase or decrease the metallic finish of the texture, or by entering a new value in the field.
- Use the Flat / structured slider to increase or decrease the textured finish of the texture, or by entering a new value in the field.
