In SimpliPlan, you can use the Labelling drawing tool to add text into your plan. For example, for annotation or illustrative purposes.
Note: This is easiest in 2D view or surface view. |
In any mode:
- Under the Labelling tab, click Labelling.

Left-click the desired location for the label.
Note: The location must be on a room surface, i.e., a wall, the floor or ceiling.
- A cursor will appear showing the start location for the label text.
Note: You can right-click the rotate the text to the right.
- Using the keyboard, type the label.
- To confirm the label, in the Tool Control dialog, click Apply.
Note: You can abort by clicking the Undo / cancel icon:
Users can now alter the position and the text of the label using the menu located on the right side of the screen, under Positioning and Labelling:
Positioning
Under Positioning, you can adjust the location of the label by using the icons or entering new values into the Space left, Space right, Space top and Space bottom fields.
Note: The Shift step length field determines the distance moved when using the Move selection up, Move selection down, Move selection left and Move selection right icons. |
Labelling
Under Labelling, you can:
- Alter the size of the text by entering a new value in the Font size field.
- Change the colour of the text by clicking the Colour field.
- Alter the text of the label by entering new text into the Label text field.
- Change the angle of the text by entering a new value in the Angle field.
Users can also delete the label by clicking the Delete icon:
Note: Users can also press the Delete key on the keyboard.
