In SimpliPlan, users can add water effects to their plan to simulate a running faucet or showerhead. This is a useful way to add realism to a plan for display in presentation mode, creating individual views or when rendering images.
Note: This is easiest in 2D view.
NOTE! If Particle Effects in the graphic settings are turned off, no effect is visible.
Adding water effects
In Tools mode:
- Under Effects, click and hold the Water effect shower or the Effect faucet icon:
- Drag and drop into the plan at the desired location.
The blue circle indicates the area below the shower or faucet effect.
Note: Hold down the SHIFT key on the keyboard to place freely.
Users can now alter the position and properties of the water effect using the menu located on the right side of the screen, under the headings Positioning and Effect.
Positioning
Under Positioning, users can adjust the location of the water effect by using the icons or entering new values into the Space top edge and Space low edge fields.
Note: The Shift step length field determines the distance moved when using the Move selection up, Move selection down, Move selection left and Move selection right icons.
Effect
Under Effect, users can:
- Toggle the automatic setting for the ground level, where water effect ends, by clicking the Auto ground level switch.
Note: When this setting is set to Off, users can specify this value by entering new information in the Ground level field. - Alter the radius of the water effect by entering a new value in the Basis effect radius field.
