In SimpliPlan, you can add an Automatic material area to an object, for example, to easily insert a tiled area above a washbasin or bath. This automatically generated material area will then move with the object, allowing it to be easily relocated.
Adding an automatic material area
In Room, Furnish or Installations mode:

Left-click the object to select it.
- Under Manufacturers object, located in the panel at the right of the screen, tick the box next to Automatic material area.
| Note: To remove an automatic material area, untick the box. |
Editing an automatic material area
In Materials mode:
- Select the Textures or Tiles tab.
- Locate the desired texture or tile using the drop-downs.
- Drag and drop the chosen texture or tile onto the automatic material area for the object.
| Note: Automatic material areas can be further edited like other surfaces in SimpliPlan, by left-clicking to select the area and using the panel on the right-hand side of the screen. For more information, see Tiling area, Tiling technique, Positioning and Properties of main tile. |
