In SimpliPlan, users can use the Cut hole function to insert a washbasin (also known as a sink) into a base unit or worktop.
Note: Users should also see Using edit shape to make a partial cut for your washbasin.
In Room, Inventory or Tools mode:
- Position the washbasin in the desired location on the base unit or worktop.
- Left-click the washbasin to select it.
- Under Manufacturer's object, located at the right side of the screen, click the Cut hole button.
- In the Convert object dialogue box, click Yes.
The shape of the washbasin will now have been cut from the base unit or worktop.

Changing the shape of a cut hole
In Room, Inventory or Tools mode:
- After performing the Cut hole function, left-click the washbasin to select it.
- Under Manufacturer's object, located at the right side of the screen, click the Cut hole button.
Users now have several options to alter the shape of the cut hole:

- Under Change shape, in the dialogue box located a the bottom right of the screen, users can increase or decrease the size of the cut hole by entering a value to add or subtract into the Size field. A green line will show a preview of the new cut hole dimensions.
- Users can left-click the measurements of the cut hole, shown in blue, and enter a new value into the box. Press Enter on the keyboard to confirm.
- Users can click and drag the points, shown as red squares, to alter the shape of the cut hole.
- Users can add new points by double-clicking along the red dotted lines that outline the dimension of the cute hole.
Note: Points can be deleted by left-clicking to select them and pressing the Delete key on the keyboard. - Under Tool control, in the dialogue box located a the bottom right of the screen, users can use the icons to Delete, Cancel, Undo/cancel an action and Apply the changes:
- Under Change shape, in the dialogue box located a the bottom right of the screen, users can increase or decrease the size of the cut hole by entering a value to add or subtract into the Size field. A green line will show a preview of the new cut hole dimensions.
