In SimpliPlan, users can import external image files as materials and apply them to a surface using drag and drop. For example, this can be used in conjunction with Create material area, to add realism to a design by adding an image to act as a picture or poster on a wall.

Note: Image files must be in a JPG, BMP or PNG format. NOTE! External images may be subject to the copyright of the image holder. Users are solely responsible for any copyright infringement resulting from their use of external image files. |
In Materials mode:
- Open File Explorer.
Note: For more information, see Find and open File Explorer (External link).
- In the File Explorer window, navigate to the location of the desired external image file.

Left-click and hold the desired external image file.

Drag and drop into SimpliPlan.
The cursor will change to show a preview of the external image file.

Left-click the desired surface.
Note: Users can also right-click to cancel.
- By default, external image files are inserted using a 100cm x 100cm scale.
To adjust this, under Material properties, in the menu located on the right side of the screen, under the Positioning tab, enter new values into the Scale fields.
